The main building is a comfortable 1 bedroom log cabin, overlooking Gunflint Lake. It has large picture windows providing a easterly view of Gunflint Lake for morning sunrises. It has a roofed porch for outside relaxation. The cabin was hand built by the owner, who is an excellent craftsman.
It is on a private road along the north shore of the lake. The road is not plowed in the winter, so access during the snow season is by snowshoe, ski or snowmobile.
The property has a second building– a sauna/toilet building with a gas fired toilet. This outbuilding is a hand crafted log cabin, made with trees harvested locally. Presently there is a lake water pump and a large water storage tank up above the house. This provides water for the shower area 20′ away from the main cabin (enclosed with walls but open to the skies).
There is 300+’ of lake frontage. The cabin is insulted and suitable for three season use. A wood burning fireplace stove combined with electric storage heaters are the heat sources. The cabin is elevated above the lake so the lake view is excellent. Gunflint Lake has 2 BWCA entry points. It is a native trout lake plus northern, small-mouth bass and walleye.
The dock area is in a rocky bay, nicely protected from the prevailing winds. The present dock is not usable, except for possibly the log cribbing. A new owner will probably want to develop a better path up to the cabin.
This property has over 5 acres of land, with two septic sites already approved by the County Sanitation office.
